What is a box gutter?
A box gutter is built into the roof edge or cornice instead of hanging off the fascia. It is common on older homes around Cincinnati. When one leaks, water runs into the wood behind it, so it's worth catching early.
Should I repair my gutters or replace them?
Loose sections, leaking seams or one damaged downspout can usually be repaired. If there is rust, sagging along several runs or rotted fascia, replacing them with seamless gutters usually makes more sense. We'll tell you which one we'd do on our own house.
Are gutter guards worth it?
If you have tall trees near the house, guards cut down on clogs and how often the gutters need cleaning. They don't make gutters maintenance-free. We install them on new gutters or on existing gutters that are still in good shape.
