Flat and low slope roofing

EPDM, TPO, modified bitumen and silicone roof coating for flat and low slope roofs across Fairfield and Greater Cincinnati.

Flat and low slope roofs show trouble differently than shingled ones. Water sits in low spots after a rain. Seams on rubber roofs start to lift, and modified bitumen blisters and cracks. Leaks show up on the ceiling under a porch, garage, addition or rear kitchen. Around Cincinnati, Norwood and Hamilton, plenty of older homes have a low slope section tucked behind a steeper main roof, and that is often where the leak starts. We install EPDM, TPO and modified bitumen (torch down) roofs. Where the existing roof is still sound enough to coat, we apply silicone roof coating. The right choice depends on the slope, how water drains off, what is on the roof now and how the space below is used. We look at the roof first, then walk you through the options and why we would pick one over another. To get started, text or call us at (513) 560-8531. We will talk through what you are seeing over the phone, come look at the roof, and send you a quote. If a section only needs a repair rather than a full tear-off, we will tell you.

Common questions

Which is better for my flat roof: EPDM, TPO or modified bitumen?

Each one works well in the right spot. EPDM is a rubber membrane, TPO is a lighter-colored single-ply membrane, and modified bitumen is a layered, torch-applied system. We look at the slope, the drainage and what is on the roof now before recommending one.

Can a silicone coating go over my existing flat roof?

Sometimes. A coating only makes sense when the roof underneath is still solid and mostly dry. If the existing roof is saturated or failing, a coating will not fix it, and we will tell you that up front.

Do you repair flat roofs or only replace them?

We do both. If the problem is limited to a seam, a blister or one section, a repair may be enough. If the roof has leaked in several places or holds water across a wide area, replacement is usually the better use of your money.
