How do I know if I need a repair or a full roof replacement?
A repair usually fixes damage that stays in one spot, like a few missing shingles, a leak at the chimney flashing or a cracked vent boot. Widespread curling, heavy granule loss, soft decking or leaks in several places point toward replacement. We'll inspect the roof and tell you which one makes sense. See roof repairs for more.
Do you handle storm damage and insurance claims?
Yes. We repair storm damage and offer insurance claim help. We'll inspect the roof, show you what we find and help you through the claim with your insurer. Take photos of the damage before any temporary fixes, because those photos help the claim.
What roofing materials do you install?
We specialize in metal, Hardie and high-end roofing systems. That includes metal and copper roofs and composite shake, and DaVinci is one of our partners. On flat and low slope roofs we install EPDM, TPO, modified bitumen and silicone coatings. We also do full roof replacements and new construction roofs.
How long does a typical asphalt shingle roof last here?
As a general rule, asphalt shingle roofs last about 20 to 30 years. The range depends on the shingle grade, attic ventilation and how well the roof was installed. Freeze-thaw cycles, summer heat and wind storms in southwest Ohio can shorten that. If your roof is near that age or showing wear, an inspection will tell you where it stands.
Do you work on flat and low slope roofs?
Yes. We install EPDM, TPO and modified bitumen (torch down) roofs, and we apply silicone roof coatings. Low slope roofs over porches, additions and garages need different materials than a pitched shingle roof. See flat and low slope roofing for details.
Do you install gutters and gutter guards?
Yes. We install seamless gutters and gutter guards, repair existing gutters, and work on box gutters. Box gutters are built into the roof edge and show up mostly on older homes. See gutters for more.
Do you do siding as well as roofing?
Yes. We handle siding installation and repair, and we specialize in James Hardie siding. James Hardie is one of our partners. Doing the roof, siding and gutters together lets us tie the trim and flashing in properly where they meet.
Can you fix a leak around my chimney?
Yes. Chimney flashing is one of the most common sources of roof leaks, and repairing or replacing it is part of our roof repair work. We'll inspect the flashing and the roof around it to find where the water is getting in.
Do you install skylights?
Yes, we do skylight installation. A skylight has to be flashed into the roof correctly to stay dry, so it's often a good time to add one when the roof is being replaced.
